OKIN GROUP Has a New CEO (27. 04. 2009)
Ladislav Novák (51) became a new Chief Executive Officer of the company OKIN GROUP, a.s. He replaced Michal Jelínek, who will retain his office of the Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.
“My ambition is to reinforce the position of OKIN GROUP on the Czech market of integrated facility management and to make use of the current market opportunities. Due to the fact that this year all companies are burdened with the effects of the economic crisis, this situation results in pressure on greater professionalization of supporting activities. By increasing their cost effectiveness, companies get not only more finances but also more time for management of their own activities, which keep them on the market,” Ladislav Novák explains and continues: “Last year, OKIN GROUP managed to cover the whole territory of the Czech Republic with a dense service network and at the same time to develop its activities in the segment of retail business premises, which makes it possible to quickly react to customers needs regardless of their size or location.”
“In recent years, OKIN GROUP established its branches in four countries. Decisions on all development activities and strategies of individual subsidiaries are made in the Czech Republic, which is still the key market for OKIN GROUP. Despite this, foreign branches operate in principle on an autonomous basis; they have their own management as well as clients. The task of the headquarters is now to implement a uniform information system and to set identical tools of financial management across the whole group,” Ladislav Novák concludes.
Ladislav Novák comes to OKIN GROUP from the Slovak company Grotto, a. s. There he was, as its General Manager, responsible for reorganization of the company’s management and for development of a new production plant in Bartošova Lehôtka. Three years before that, he had been working as the Managing Director in the company Škoda Praha, a. s.
During his professional career, Ladislav Novák also provided foreign companies with consultancy services related to setting up of new branches. His knowledge and experiences were used for example by the Italian furniture company Berloni on its entry to the Czech Republic. OKIN GROUP used his services too when it was expanding to the Ukrainian market in 2007.
Significant successes of Novák’s career include his work at the company H. J. Heinz Distribution. As its General Manager, he managed to develop for the American H. J. Heinz Company a logistic background for official distribution of Heinz products in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Ladislav Novák got his university degree at the Czech Technical University (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, field of technical cybernetics). He is married with six children. His hobbies, in addition to work, include aviation, motorcycling, music, in-line skating and skiing.
